Cody Allen grew up right here in Columbus, where he attended Brookstone High School. He went on to receive an academic scholarship at the Georgia Southern University, where he spent three years studying and working for the university in various positions.
He graduated in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and served as the president of the Political Science Honors Society. Continuing in his education, Cody went straight to law school at the University of Georgia School of Law.
While in law school, Cody served as the Vice President of the Tax Law Society and spent his summers working at a local law firm and the District Attorney’s Office in Columbus, Georgia. After obtaining his law degree and being admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2017, Cody returned to Columbus Georgia and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Bobby G. Peters in the Superior Courts of the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit.
After a little more than two years with Superior Court, Cody joined the Law Offices of Gary Bruce in 2020. Cody is a member of the Columbus Bar Association and the Columbus Young Lawyers Division.
Cody resides in Columbus with his Australian Shepherd, Ruger. He enjoys cooking and taking Ruger for walks at the Riverwalk and Cooper Creek Park.
