Kristen Saunders grew up in McDonough, Georgia, where she graduated from Luella High School. After being awarded an academic scholarship, Kristen spent four years at Mercer University where she traveled with and completed administrative work for the school’s wrestling team and obtained degrees in both Psychology and Criminal Justice. Continuing her education, Kristen attended Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law. There, Kristen was involved in many student organizations and spent much of her spare time serving as treasurer and co-president of the Association of Women Law Students, receiving the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers Outstanding Law Student Award in 2017. Kristen also served as the 3L Concerns Chair of the Student Bar Association, and assisted the Admissions office and participated in Alumni and Advancement events. Kristen clerked for the District Attorney’s Office of the Macon Judicial Circuit as well as the Georgia Public Defender’s Office – Appellate Division, performing legal research and drafting appellate briefs.
After obtaining her law degree and being admitted to the State Bar of Georgia, Kristen moved to Columbus, Georgia, to join the Law Offices of Gary Bruce in 2017. Kristen is a member of the Columbus Bar Association, the Columbus Young Lawyers Division, and the Junior League of Columbus. Kristen resides in Columbus with her German Shepherd, Luna. She attends Grace Presbyterian Church and enjoys taking her dog hiking at Pine Mountain.
