Mark Jones was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. Growing up, he always knew he wanted to be an attorney. Mark attended Texas Christian University for his undergraduate degree, receiving a B.S. in political science and graduating with departmental and collegiate honors.

After college, Mark went on to intern for Congresswoman Kay Granger in Washington, D.C. He then attended The University of Georgia School of Law for his law degree. During law school, Mark participated in UGA's Prosecutorial Clinic. Through that program, he served in a District Attorney's Office for a year, prosecuting misdemeanor and felony cases in court as well as writing appellate briefs. During his second year of law school, Mark served as an extern to the Honorable Steve C. Jones, a Superior Court Judge in Athens.

After graduating law school, Mark began clerking for the Honorable Frank J. Jordan, Jr., a Superior Court Judge in Columbus. Mark served under Judge Jordan for three years, assisting the judge in dozens of trials and drafting hundreds of memoranda regarding various legal issues such as: personal injury generally, premises liability, products liability, wrongful death claims, trespass, fraud, negligent construction, violations of Georgia's Fair Business Practices Act, punitive damages, workers compensation appeals, and evidentiary and procedural issues in civil suits.

In his free time, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife, Ginny Jones, and his daughter, Abigail Jones. Mark is an active member in a local church and also serves as a mentor to the Columbus' Truancy Intervention Project.
